3 Dragons Honored with Post-Season Awards August 21, 2008 | LISLE, IL The Dragons wrapped up their 2008 season with the second best overall record in the CICL, but still missed the playoffs.  Although there was no post- season for our players, we still managed to have 3 players win post-season awards.  The 3 players were pitcher Brad Riegler, who was named co-pitcher of the year, and Phil Wunderlich and Matt Behren who were named all-stars at first base and catcher, respectively. Dragons Defeat Sliders August 9, 2008 | SPRINGFIELD, IL The DuPage Dragons defeated the Sprigfield Sliders tonight 4-2. The Dragons were paced by starting pitcher Brad Reigler who threw all nine innings. Gems Come From Behind to Defeat Dragons August 7, 2008 | QUINCY, IL The Quincy Gems were able to overcome a late rally by the DuPage Dragons and pick up a 6-5 win at QU Stadium. Dragons Send Springfield Sliding July 28, 2008 | LISLE, IL For the fourth straight home game, the DuPage Dragons played host to the Springfield Sliders.  And for the fourth time in a row, the Dragons prevailed, defeating the Sliders by a score of 4-1.  It was the sixth win for DuPage in their last seven games, while the Sliders lost for the seventh time in a row, and ninth time in their last ten.  The Dragons also remained in a virtual tie for first place in the second half standings with a 9-6 record, improving to 22-17 overall.  [ more ]

Dragons Score Third Come from Behind Victory June 11, 2008 | LISLE, IL The 2008 DuPage Dragons certainly have a flair for the dramatic.  For the third straight night, the Dragons used an 8th inning rally to propel them to victory as they were able to defeat the Dubois Bombers by a score of 3-2 Wednesday in Lisle.  The victory gave the Dragons a sweep of the Bombers and earned them a perfect record on their three game homestand. Dragons Rally Late for Second Straight Win June 10, 2008 | LISLE, IL If the first two games are any indication, DuPage Dragon fans are in for a treat this season.  After rallying late to win in extra innings last night, the Dragons used another late rally Tuesday night to defeat the Dubois Bombers 4-3.  The victory puts the Dragons above .500 on the season, with a record of 3-2.  The Bombers fall to 1-3 on the year. Errors and Double Plays Doom Dragons June 8, 2008 | SPRINGFIELD, IL Judging by the sunny skies, things looked to be brighter for the DuPage Dragons Sunday afternoon as they took on the Springfield Sliders.  But the middle infield tandem of Elliot Soto and Vincente Cafaro helped the Sliders turn four double plays and put a cloud over the Dragons as they went down by a score of 5-1. Dragons Score Plenty in First Win June 6, 2008 | QUINCY, IL The DuPage Dragons didn’t have trouble scoring in their first contest of the year, as they defeated the Quincy Gems by a score of 13-9.  Several Dragons had multi-hit games, but the star of the show was first baseman Phil Wunderlich (Louisville), who went 4-for-5 with three runs batted in while also scoring three times. 5 Current Dragons & 1 Coach to Report Late due to College World Series June 1, 2008 | LISLE, IL With the start of the College World Series just around the corner, the DuPage Dragons would like extend a congratulations to all the teams that made the tournament.  Of those teams in the tournament, the Dragons have players attending Louisville, University of Illinois-Chicago, and Eastern Illinois.  The Dragons will also be without their head coach, Mark Viramontes, who is an assistant coach at The University of San Diego. Dragons Helping to Build Scholarship Fund May 30, 2008 | LISLE, IL The DuPage Dragons are teaming up with the 4:44 p.m. Club on Wednesday, June 18th at 7:05 p.m. when the Dragons face the Springfield Sliders at the Village of Lisle Sports Complex at Benedictine University.  Throughout the game, members of the 4:44 p.m. Club will sponsor a raffle, and the proceeds will go towards the Club’s scholarship fund.  Among the prizes will be autographed bats and baseballs signed by members of the DuPage Dragons baseball team.
